University now offers a law enforcement track in the criminal justice bachelor’s degree program
University of Maryland Global Campus (Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ) President Gregory W. Fowler, PhD, offered remarks at the quarterly meeting of the Maryland Chiefs of Police Association (MCPA), held Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the university’s headquarters in Adelphi, Maryland. MCPA is an organization of law enforcement executives dedicated to serving their members and communities through legislative and legal advocacy, training and member services.
"At Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ, we are proud to support law enforcement professionals everywhere, and it is especially meaningful to serve those who protect and strengthen the communities we call home," said Fowler. "Your work is demanding, and the pathways for advancement are evolving. We seek every day to make higher education more accessible, more relevant, and more affordable for adult learners in the workforce and the military."
Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ now offers a law enforcement track in the criminal justice bachelor’s degree program that is designed specifically for law enforcement officers.
"We are honored that both Montgomery County and Prince George’s County have been early partners in this work," said Fowler. "Their engagement has helped us build a model that is relevant and scalable while being truly responsive to the needs and challenges facing modern agencies."
